Making An Appointment
Our office sees newborn through young adult. Our office hours are:
Monday & Wednesday - - 8:30 am - 9:00 pm
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday - - 8:30am - 5:00 pm.
If you would like to schedule with a particular doctor, nurse practitioner and physician assistant please click here to see their usual office schedule.
If you would like to schedule an in-person appointment or a Telehealth on-line appointment please call 717-533-7850. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. It is now our policy to have you bring and present insurance cards for your children at all visits.
NOTE: In the current pandemic environment, we may need to make some changes from time to time to our office scheduling and protocols. Please refer to Special Notices: Changes to Our Scheduling & Office Protocols for the latest information - click here for that webpage. Also be advised that in an effort to keep our patients with accidents, injuries and/or medical emergencies out of the Emergency Rooms, you may experience a delay in your appointment. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Co-pays are due at the time of the visit. If your child is being seen for a Well Child Exam and they are sick at the time of or have an issue to be addressed, it could result in copay for the additional work up. Many insurance companies will add a copay or place it toward your deductible for these types of visits.
Your first office visit?
See the New Patient Signup page where you can print-out and complete our health information forms prior to your appointment.
We encourage parents to call our office during our regular office hours with questions about sick children or questions about the health, growth or development of your children. We also encourage adolescent and young adult patients to call us directly with their own questions or to use the Message Center to email questions to us. Please limit after-hours calls to requests for help with sick or injured children.
Referrals to Other Doctors:
If your child is to see a specialist our doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistant will put in the request to our referral coordinator. And you will be contacted with appointment date and time. If your insurance requires a referral, please give 7 days advance notice. If you have an insurance that is an HMO and your child is seen at an Urgent Care Facility, please call our office immediately so we can do a referral.
Canceling or No Showing for Appointments:
If you need to cancel an appointment, we request that you give us a 24 hour notice. We understand that there may be an emergency that arises and those things are for unseen. We do give reminder calls to our patients as a courtesy. If you no-show for your appointment or cancel your appointment and we are unable to fill that time slot you will be charged.
If you arrive 15 minutes late for your child's appointment you may be asked to reschedule. Our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistant do their best to stay on schedule.
Emergencies & Calling After-Hours:
Emergency phones calls are accepted at all hours by calling our regular phone number (717) 533-7850. If calling after our normal office hours, your call will be answered by our nurse triage service. They are professionally trained pediatric nurses who will provide phone advice and help you decide if or when you need to seek medical care for your child.
The nurses that answer these calls provide advice based on protocols developed by the providers at the Hershey Pediatric Center. If medically necessary, the triage service will contact the doctors, nurse practitioner and physician assistant on call for assistance. Our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistant will be available on call until 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
